Approximate locations of Near Surface Lignite Resources or areas of Indicated Reserves were excerpted from unpublished company reports submitted to the Ozark Regional Commission circa 1975-1979.

Note: For the purpose of efficient database management, the drill hole numbers in the Crowley's Ridge study area and alpha-numeric drill hole numbers vary from the original publication, Prior et.al, 1985.

The series of numbers in the Crowley's Ridge area have been changed from 1-116 to 1623-1738. All alpha-numeric drill hole numbers (eg. 78b) were changed to 5000-5021.  Drill holes 1579-1622 were drilled by the Arkansas Geological Commission after publication.

Surface and down-hole information for the drill holes represented on this map are available on CD-ROM in table format as Miscellaneous Map Series 101 part 2 from the Arkansas Geological Commission.
