Biography

Ciara graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2015 double majoring in Geology and Environmental Science. She graduated with Honors, completing a thesis entitled A petrologic and structural analysis of metavolcanic rocks in the western Piedmont and eastern Blue Ridge provinces, central Virginia. Continuing her geoscience education at Indiana University, she had the opportunity to participate in short courses led by ExxonMobil as well as complete a Master's thesis: Characterizing deformation in Precambrian gneisses along the Carmichael fault, SW Montana: implications of modeling fault cross sections and Laramide lithospheric fault behavior. She joined the Arkansas Geological Survey in March 2018 and works in a variety of geologic disciplines including petroleum geoscience, geologic field mapping, and geohazard studies.
